Hello my name is Stephen Jones and welcome to my site. I have been an amateur photographer for many years and I have tried many different styles and types of photography. My preference always seemed to fall into the category of landscape and architecture, purely because you do not have to stage or set anything up; its just your choice of location, the buildings never move. A few years ago, I was able to sit in on a very interesting presentation at my photo club by a professional photographer called Paul Sanders. He came over to the Netherlands to give an evenings talk about his work and it became a pivotal moment in my view of photography. Paul is a very successful photographer and is well known in his field. The pleasure of sitting down and taking the time to look at the environment and to then decide what you are going to photograph is not for everyone, but for me it has become the ultimate way of creating a photo that represents who I am. I have visited some wonderful locations and this has given me the opportunity to go further in this chosen field and to improve as a photographer.

I have now retired early after almost 40 years in the IT industrie and I have the opportunity to pursue my new career as a professional photographer. I intend to maximise my time in creating long exposure photographs, in as many locations as possible and to immerse myself in creating long lasting and exclusive limited edition prints.

To not put all my eggs in one basket, I have also been introduced to URBEX photography by Lorenzo Suvee better known to his followers as ‘UrbanBruges’ (check out his page in the Links section, its amazing). Spent a whole day with him at some secret locations and got some great tips on technique and natural lighting, things only a photographer of his quality could know.
